| I have begun to map out the backroad trips I have taken, mostly in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. After June 2005 I hope to add Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia. The list will grow, so keep checking back. Each section is saved: 1. At each highway change or confusing turn. 2. As the entire section in web format. 3. As the entire section in MSN Streets and Trips 2005 format. If you don't have the program, you can't use this. I print out the web formats of each turn, staple them together in order and just turn the page as I pass that intersection. Apryl, my wife and navigator, watches these when she goes with me. Even though I may not think I need them any more, I still usually carry them and they have often kept me from getting lost. Also, many of these rides have 60+ miles between reliable gas stations so careful planning is required. I get about 135 miles before going on reserve but fill up around 80-100 miles if I am not familiar with the ride and will ride to 120+ miles if I know where the next reliable gas station is (not a Mom and Pop that may have shut down to go coon-hunting).
